More than 100 testers in three days: a word of thanks
Within three days, more than 100 testers signed up for Thuisbord. What that means for us, what we are doing now and how you can stay up to date.
Three days ago, we asked households to help test Thuisbord. Since then, more than 100 testers have signed up. We did not expect that to happen so quickly, and we are grateful for it.
To everyone who signed up: thank you. You make it possible to improve Thuisbord before it is available to everyone.
Why testers matter so much
Thuisbord is meant to be a shared screen for the whole household. That can be a tablet on the wall, the TV, a laptop or a phone. Every household uses a screen like that differently. One mainly looks at today's and tomorrow's electricity prices, another at the shopping list or who puts the bin out this week.
You only really see those differences when real families use it. What seems logical to us can turn out quite differently in your kitchen or living room. That is why your experience is so valuable.
What we ask of testers
We are especially curious about:
- what you use every day and what you skip;
- where you have to search for a moment or feel unsure;
- whether the energy advice is clear and useful.
That energy advice is deliberately kept simple, by the way: one line in plain language, based on fixed rules and not on AI. That makes it predictable, and you can check why you get a particular piece of advice.
Your data stays yours
If you take part in the energy side of Thuisbord, you connect your own Homey or Home Assistant. These are systems for smart devices in the home that can, among other things, pass on meter readings. Thuisbord only reads that data and never switches anything on or off.
Meter readings and family data are stored in the EU, are visible only to your own household and are never sold or shared. We use no tracking, advertising or third-party analytics. That applies during testing just as much as it will later.
What happens next
We are working towards the launch in the Netherlands, in Dutch and English, as an app for Android, iOS and the web. There is no fixed date or pricing yet. We will only share those once they are truly settled.
Until then, we are working through what testers tell us. Not everything at once, but step by step.
Staying up to date
Would you like to know when Thuisbord is available? You can sign up for the newsletter at thuisbord.app. In it, we share how testing is going and when you can get started.
Thanks again to all the testers. We are glad you are thinking along with us.
