Getting started
Your subscription
Where to find your household's subscription, how the owner chooses, stops and pays for it, and what the lines on the Subscription screen mean.
One subscription covers the whole household: every screen and every adult at home. What the plans cost is on the Pricing page of this website.
Where to find it
Open Thuisbord and go to Settings › Subscription. At the top you see how the subscription stands, with the dates that go with it. What those lines mean is explained further down.
You choose, stop and pay for a plan in the web version of Thuisbord: Thuisbord in your browser, on your computer, tablet or phone. Open this address and sign in with your own account:
https://web.thuisbord.app
There, too, go to Settings › Subscription.
Who can do what
- Every adult at home can see in the app how the subscription stands.
- Only the owner of the household chooses a plan, stops it or opens the billing page. Other adults see this in the web version: Only the owner of your household can take out, stop or change the plan.
- Only in the web version. You cannot do it in the app you install on your phone or tablet. Read why.
Choosing a plan
In the web version, under Choose a plan, you see the monthly plan and the yearly plan, each with its price.
- Click or tap Choose the monthly plan or Choose the yearly plan.
- If your free trial is still running, the app first asks: Your trial ends. If you choose a plan now, your trial ends at once and you pay straight away. If that is what you want, click or tap Continue to payment.
- You arrive on a page of Stripe, Thuisbord's payment partner. There you pay with iDEAL or a credit card. With iDEAL you pay once through your bank; after that, Stripe collects the payments by direct debit from the same account. Your bank or card details never reach Thuisbord.
- You then come back to Subscription. First it says Thank you! Your plan shows here once your payment is confirmed. That usually takes a few seconds. Once the payment is confirmed, it says Thank you! Your plan is on.
If you went back without paying, it says Nothing was charged. You can choose a plan whenever you like. If it says Your payment isn't confirmed yet. That can take a while; have another look in a few minutes., there is nothing you need to do: have another look later.
Good to know
You do not have to choose before your trial ends: until then, everything is free. If you choose a plan during the trial, the trial ends and you pay straight away. That also applies to the free months of the test version.
Tip
Does it say You can't take out a plan just yet. Try again later.? Then you cannot choose a plan right now. There is nothing you need to do; try again later.
The yearly plan
You pay for the first year of the yearly plan at once. After that, it automatically continues as the monthly plan, which you can cancel any month. Subscription shows from when, for example: On 13 October 2027 it continues as the monthly plan, which you can cancel any month.
Don't want it to continue after that? Then stop the yearly plan before the year is over. It then ends after the paid year.
Stopping, and undoing a stop
If you stop your plan, it runs until the end of what you have paid for: a monthly plan until the end of its month, a yearly plan in its first year until the end of that year.
- In the web version, under Subscription, click or tap Stop plan.
- The app asks Stop your plan? and says until which day your plan runs.
- Click or tap Stop plan once more to confirm.
It then says, for example, Stops on 13 November 2026., with Until then everything stays on. No more payments follow.
Changed your mind? Until that day it says Changed your mind? Then your plan carries on as it was. Click or tap Keep my plan, and your plan carries on as it was.
Stripe's billing page
When your household has a plan, the web version shows Go to the billing page. On that page of Stripe, you manage your payment method, your invoices and your billing address.
You don't stop or keep your plan there, but on Subscription in the web version.
When a payment fails
Subscription then says: A payment didn't go through. Your plan carries on while the payment is tried again. In the web version, the owner also sees: Check your payment method on the billing page, so the next attempt goes through.
Click or tap Go to the billing page and check that your card or account is still right. Has your card expired, or do you want to use another account? Then change your payment method there.
What the lines mean
At the top of Subscription there is a title, with the lines that apply at the moment below it. A date is always written in full, such as 13 October 2026.
| Title | What it means |
|---|---|
| Free trial | You are still trying Thuisbord for free. |
| Trial ended | The free trial is over, and you don't have a plan yet. |
| Monthly plan or Yearly plan | This plan is running. |
| Plan ended | The plan has stopped. |
| Line | What it means |
|---|---|
| Your trial ends on and a date | Until that day, everything is free. |
| Your trial ended on and a date | The free trial ended on that day. |
| Next payment on and a date | That is when you pay again. |
| On a date it continues as the monthly plan | From that day, your yearly plan is a monthly plan. |
| Stops on and a date | The owner has stopped the plan. Until that day everything stays on, and no more payments follow. Until then, the owner can undo the stop. |
| Stopped on and a date | The plan stopped on that day. |
| A payment didn't go through. | Read When a payment fails. |
At the bottom it also says: One subscription covers every screen and every adult at home.
Why the app on your phone shows no price
In the Thuisbord app you install on your phone or tablet, you see how the subscription stands, but no price, no buttons and no link to the billing page. That is because of the app stores' rules on paying in an app. So it only says You manage the plan in the web version of Thuisbord., or for other adults The owner of your household manages the plan in the web version of Thuisbord.
Want to choose, stop or pay for a plan? Then open the web version.
